Local Offer:-

Schools are required to publish information about services they provide for children with disabilities and Special Educational Needs. This is called the "Local offer".

The intention is to offer choice and transparency for families as well as providing a resource for professionals to detail the range of services and provision locally.

As from September 2014, there will be a new Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice that deals with children’s special educational needs from 0-25 years. As part of this Code of Practice the Local Authority must publish a ‘Local Offer’, setting out in one place information about provision they expect to be available across education, health and social care for children and young people in their area who have SEN or are disabled. In addition to this all schools within the Local Authority have to publish information and provision that is available at their schools.

The following information outlines the information and Provision that will be available for children attending Deykin Avenue Junior & Infant School who have additional Special Educational Needs or a Disability. The provision is divided in to three sections:-

Open and Honest Communication

Appropriate and Effective Teaching & Learning

A Partnership Approach
